I "Love" You! (Really?)
Love was once a powerful word, a word that could change everything, and in some cases destroy everything. "Love" has become so common that the word is virtually meaningless in most cases. There are very few people who I take seriously when they say "I Love You", any other tom, dick, and harry just get a nod and a "i love you too." I have a new co-worker at my job, they seem like a decent person, but 1 hour into my shift they said, "I love you!", now I know I've turned a few heads in my day, and I may have been the cause of 1 or 2 break-ups, and my cologne is always on point, but you "love" me? Really? I was almost tempted to ask why? What did I do in this hour that I have known of your existence, that could possibly make you love me? If I needed you in the middle of the night would YOU be there for me? If I became terribly ill could i expect to see your "loving" face in the hospital? I doubt it my "love". I can hardly remember the days when the word "bitch" was an insult, and not a compliment, when "love" meant y'all would basicially get married, and peopled started off liking you before they professed their "love" for you. I admit, I have tossed around the "L" word a few times, but no more. I will attempt to only say "I Love You", to those which i truly love, to all others, you will recieve the same courteous nod as before.
